Synchronous machine control and protection in one package!
The Motor Commander is a new innovation that combines synchronous motor protection and control into a single device. Compared to traditional systems with several separate devices and multiple software, the Commander takes less space and saves considerable hours of engineering time. Additionally, the Commander’s operation is smooth as there is only one interface to the system.
The Motor Commander has an AQ-M257C unit which includes all the standard protection functions as well as excitation control. With nine (9) empty slots the Motor Commander offers a modular protection and control solution that require extending the device’s standard I/O and communication even further. The Commander uses various communication protocols, including the 1st and 2nd editions of IEC 61850. The precision error for the power and energy measurement accuracy can be as low as 0.2 %, and the cybersecurity of the Commander is compliant with IEC 62443-4-2 security level 1 (SL1). The Commander is delivered with the AQ-GC30 excitation bridge.
