Vakka-Suomen Voima (VSV) distribution utility in Southwest Finland is applying Arcteq’s AQ-F215 feeder protection IEDs and AQ 100 series arc protection devices in their distribution network. The first switching station in Torlahti was commissioned in early 2014 followed by Rhode substation, commissioned in August 2014. Both stations communicate with ABB RTU 560 using IEC 61850. Ihode 110/20kV substation was energized after completion of successful primary earth-fault tests. The AQ-F215 feeder protection IEDs operated flawlessly also under challenging intermittent earth-fault field tests. The latest project for 110/20kV Lappi substation was commissioned in May 2015.
