Olá – let’s meet at STPC 2024!
With nearly 30 years of history, STPC, now hosted by Cigre Brasil, has established itself as the premier event for learning the latest advancements in protection and control. Join us in Sao Paolo to discover innovative solutions that address both longstanding and emerging challenges in power distribution.

Paper presentation: Segment based distance protection for overcoming today’s challenges of power grids
Traditional distance protection schemes applied till today have been based on assumption of protecting homogeneous power lines with limited power sources. But things have changed – rapidly. Distributed generation and renewable energy sources have changed the behaviour of power grids on all voltage levels, and concerns on more frequent misbehaviour of distance protection schemes caused by these new circumstances has been raised. Can we still rely on distance protection to operate correctly?
At STPC Arcteq Relays will present the paper “Improved resistive reach with segmented distance protection algorithm”. The paper discusses the impact of the changes in power grids in applying distance protection schemes. The benefits of improved resistive reach, like better protection sensitivity and dependability especially in mixed networks with multiple conductor types and reactors in line will be discussed.

Mark your calendar for Arcteq’s presentation on October 15 at 9:30 – 10:00am in room no 1 to learn more. After the presentation, visit our stand for a demonstration of a solution that changes the world of distance protection.
New: Fault detection device – No fault goes unnoticed!
What is possibly the most challenging issue in power distribution networks? Relay protection engineers have faced this problem for far too long, and despite numerous attempts it has not been resolved – until now.
We are excited to introduce a groundbreaking AQ-50 Fault detection device that accurately detects high-impedance earth faults in various types of networks where fault currents are typically low. These faults are extremely difficult to detect even for the most sophisticated protection devices in primary substations.
AQ-50 isn’t just any device; it is a device that really works and ensures that no fault goes unnoticed. At our stand we will demonstrate how AQ-50 resolves the mystery of detecting high-impedance earth faults and more.

Topical: Active arc flash protection to improve electrical safety!

Electrical safety is a concern that is rapidly growing in importance, and where there’s a low or medium voltage electrical switchgear, there’s a risk for a hazardous arc flash incident.
The Arcteq arc protection system, including a quenching device, captures and contains the harmful energy of an arc. The arc flash is distinguished in less than 5 ms, before heat, pressure and gas emissions arise to dangerous levels. This crucially improves the safety of the maintenance work and minimizes the damage on the equipment should an arc flash incident occur.
What’s best is that our arc quenching devices can be re-activated for multiple operations, which also allows testing of the entire arc protection system to verify that it performs as expected.
See you in Sao Paolo!
