Arcteq has been selected to supply arc protection systems to CMPC Celulose Riograndense’s Guíaba new pulp line project. Arcteq scope of supply includes more than 200 units of AQ 100 arc protection relays and more than 1,500 arc light sensors type AQ 01. Arcteq arc protection systems protect the plant’s medium voltage and low voltage distribution switchgear, bus ducts, and motor control centers. The new pulp line – an expansion to the existing Guaíba pulp mill – will have a capacity of 1.3 million tonnes per year and will be able to reach 1.5 million tonnes per year with minor investments. The new pulp line will be built in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil and is scheduled to be commissioned in the first half of 2015.
