Correcting and Stabilizing Phase Voltages

Power quality

Ensto’s robust power quality devices offer fast to install solution for correcting and stabilizing phase voltages without expensive and time-consuming network reinforcing or re-building. This enables maximum utilization of the low-voltage distribution network capacity and improves electrical safety at the consumer connection point.

Poor power quality, such as voltage variation, voltage unbalance and harmonic distortion can affect performance of electrical equipment, even damage them, and lead to unsafe operating conditions.

These issues are most prevalent in long overhead lines, where insufficient fault current and delayed disconnection of power from the affected consumer connection point can cause safety problems. This typically occurs in rural areas, especially in case households connect solar panels, small-scale wind power generation or EV charging systems to their connection point.

Ensto’s robust power quality devices offer fast to install solution for correcting and stabilizing phase voltages to 230 V level. This allows maximum utilization of the low-voltage distribution network capacity. Improved power quality also enables the optimum operation of households’ electrical equipment, including solar panels and EV charging systems.

The Phase Balancers and Voltage Controllers offer a cost-efficient alternative for reinforcing or re-building the network, which is expensive and requires proper planning and approvals. They can also be used as a temporary solution for mitigating power quality issues until the planned network improvements can be made. Once the improvements have been completed, the devices can be moved to another part of the network where power quality requires improvement. Thus, these power quality devices offer a flexible and cost-efficient solution for resolving power quality issues of any magnitude, even if it would concern just a single consumer.

Phase Balancer

The Ensto Phase Balancer is designed to solve power quality issues in weak, 3-phase low-voltage distribution networks. It mitigates phase imbalances, reduces voltage flickers and harmonics, enables fast disconnection of power from the affected consumer connection point, and maximizes the utilization of existing low-voltage power distribution capacity.

Voltage Controller

The Voltage Controller by Ensto is a cost-efficient solution for correcting unwanted voltage variation in low voltage 1-phase networks. It is installed close to the consumer connection point, where it measures the feeding line voltage and automatically stepwise increases or decreases the output voltage.
