Arcteq seminar 2023 Vaasa-110

Meet our partners: Seungmoo Shin, South Korea

Arcteq has been doing business in South Korea already for a decade. The head of Arcteq Korea, Mr Seungmoo Shin, shares here his experiences working with Arcteq.

The head of ARCTEQ KOREA Co., Ltd., Seungmoo Shin, better known as SM, has been working with protection devices for more than 20 years, and he has known some of Arcteq’s staff since the very beginning of his career.

– For example, I have followed Juha’s career from ABB to VAMP and on to Arcteq, he states.

SM is an experienced visitor to Finland, and he has actually lived in Vaasa two decades ago.

Arcteq has been doing business in South Korea since 2014. In the first years, it was difficult for a small and starting company to stand out, but gradually the company gained recognition and a foothold in the market as customers noticed that the products were of good quality.

– The traditional relay business is highly competitive, but in terms of new arc products, we have already achieved a good market share, which is growing all the time. Within a few years, we will definitely be among the top five in arc products, says SM.

Arcteq has, for instance, supplied multiple AQ 100 arc protection systems to an LNG carrier built by STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Korea. The delivery consisted of 40 pieces of AQ 100 series arc protection relays and 300 pieces of AQ-01 arc sensor units. Recently Arcteq AQ-210 series and AQ-250 series products were also certificated by Korean Accreditation system with V-Check Mark.

SM appreciates Arcteq’s energy and good mood. It is important to him that he can trust his Finnish partners, that they do not use any sales gimmicks.

– Money plays a big role in all business, but I think that mutual trust and the happiness brought by work are even more important, SM says.
