Application Engineer
We are now looking for a experienced and solution-oriented Application Engineer to strengthen our customer-driven service organization. In this role your will ensure that our customers receive the highest level of support and that our products meet all requirements. The position offers a versatile combination of technical problem solving, customer interaction, and hands-on testing both in the office and at customer sites.
Basic information
- Location: Vaasa or Helsinki
- Remote work: hybrid working model, up to two remote work days per week
- Travelling: readiness to travel about 50–80 days per year
- Permanent, full-time role
- Start date: as agreed, preferably as soon as possible
Key responsibilities
In this role your will make sure that our products meet complex customer demands and that customers receive the highest level of support we are known for. Your typical tasks include:
- Planning and performing testing procedures both in-house and at customer sites, especially tests related to commissioning including simulation and verification of different fault scenarios using protection relay testing eqiupment (such as Omicron).
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues: most testing and fault simulations are performed at Arcteq’s facilities by replicating customer-reported faults.
- Providing technical support to customers via the ticket system or on-site, in co-operation with product development when needed.
- Training customers, both during Arcteq’s training weeks in Vaasa and at customer premises.
- Proactive customer collaboration: working closely with sales and product development teams to ensure that customers receive optimal solutions for their protection and commissioning needs.
What we are looking for
- Experience in troubleshooting and electrical installation testing according to given procedures.
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in electrical engineering.
- Fluent English skills.
- Mindset oriented to customer service.
- Willingness to learn and adapt new technologies.
- Readiness to travel within Finland and abroad.
- Knowledge of protection applications in electrical networks is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with protection relay testing equipment is an advantage.
- S1 electrical qualification is an advantage.
